Life is hard enough for women without the pressures of high fashion. And by "high" I mean ridiculously uncomfortable foot wear. Not only is the foot wear uncomfortable, it's hard to walk in in today's urban environment. That's why we salute the women who buck the fashion trends for an hour each morning and afternoon and put on their tennies.
Well, we don't salute them for their fashion choices, we actually salute them for making a decision that allows them to get the hell out of the damn way.
Nothing is worse than being trapped behind some chick with 6-inch "CFMs" who can't walk in them. She thinks she looks sexy and the rest of us might think that too if we weren't ready to push her slow walking ass down an escalator. The hallowed grounds of the respective metro facilities in the greater Washington, D.C. area are for people in a hurry, not for people trying to bring sexy back.

We used to snicker at women in tennis shoes and pants suits, but now we thank them. They are ultimately being good stewards of our time by ditching the heels and dawning the Nikes. God bless them - they care about us.
Now if we could only do something about the roller bags these women stuff their shoes in...
